John Boyega’s next film project includes Robert De Niro and Burning Sands and The First Purge writer/director Gerard McMurray.
Boyega will star in The Formula, written and directed by McMurray. McMurray will also produce through his new company Buppie Productions, according to Deadline.
De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Berry Welsh are also on as the film’s producers. Ephraim Walker will co-produce for Buppie Productions with Sam Shaw, with Jason Michael Berman as executive producer.
The Formula focuses on “a Formula One racing prodigy who is forced to become a getaway driver to save the only family he has left.” The film will be McMurray’s second film for Netflix and it is under Welsh and Rosenthal’s deal with Netflix.
