Grambling State lineman David Moore Jr. impresses during Senior Bowl workouts

One of the best offensive linemen at the Reese’s Senior Bowl this week represented the SWAC.

Grambling State linemen David Moore Jr. earned practice player-of-the-week at his position. The awards were voted on by opposing players in the position group they faced during practices.

Here is how Sports Illustrated NFL Draft analyst Vinnie Calderone evaluated Moore following observations of Senior Bowl workouts:

Grambling State mauler DAVID MOORE has demonstrated excellent balance, which will help him with big pass rushers at the next level. His size is ideal as a guard, weighing in at 350 pounds and standing at just above 6-foot-1. Moore has dominated throughout his college career and it’s starting to show on tape from practice at the Senior Bowl. His anchor is one of the best this week, as he will rarely get pushed back into the quarterback. One negative takeaway was Moore’s ability to deal with speed-rushers. He needs to sure up his reaction time to be successful at the next level.

Moore, a member of the American team, was unable to play in the fall after the SWAC opted to participate in the spring season because of the COVID-19 concerns.
