The season for North Carolina A&T ended abruptly this week after a member of its basketball program tested positive for COVID-19 during the MEAC Basketball Tournament.
But a new report indicated that the person identified carrying the virus has since tested negative since the Aggies were forced to drop out.
Jeff Goodman of Stadium tweeted Saturday morning that the North Carolina A&T staff member “has tested negative three times” since returning from the tournament.

Prior to the MEAC Tournament, the Aggies were tested for six straight days and submitted their first tests in Norfolk on Thursday, according to the News and Record.
The unidentified staff member of the program tested positive in the morning and then again in the afternoon, leading to the decision that A&T wouldn’t play its scheduled game Friday versus either Norfolk State or North Carolina Central.
The Aggies were the No. 1 seed in the tournament and favorites to advance to the program’s first NCAA Tournament since 2013.
