Sonic the Hedgehog 2 just added some major star power in Idris Elba. The actor is joining the cast of the sequel film as he is set to voice Knuckles the Echidna.
Jeff Fowler is returning as the director. Ben Schwartz will be the voice of Sonic again with James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey also returning. Shemar Moore is also joining the cast for the sequel.
Elba announced his casting, posting on Instagram, “Knock, knock….. #SonicMovie2 #Knuckles.”
A fan-favorite character, Knuckles is depicted mostly as an ally to Sonic but sometimes as an adversary.
Elba can be currently seen in The Suicide Squad and will also be in Netflix’s The Harder They Fall.
