When discussing fashion legends, there’s no doubt that Kimora Lee Simmons has solidified her mentioning in the conversation. Simmons is an original ’90s supermodel, you know like Naomi, Tyra, Beverly, and Iman – the list is incomplete without Kimora’s name. She began gracing international runways starting at the age of 14, and worked with the most renowned high fashion brands including Chanel. And of course, we’re all very familiar with her beloved brand Baby Phat. At the time, the 24-year old CEO stormed the industry with designs that influenced an entire era and still to this day, the Y2K aesthetic is present in street style and on the runways. Now, Simmons shares the Baby Phat legacy with her two daughters, Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons, who joined their mother for an exclusive sit down with ESSENCE.
