South Carolina State receives HBCU national championship rings

South Carolina State football players and coaches received their HBCU national championship on Friday night.

Assistant coach Chris Parrott revealed the diamond-encrusted jewelry that features the South Carolina State logo.

“HBCU National Champions has a nice ring to it,” Parrott wrote on Twitter during what was described as a  Spring Fest Celebration with the Champions event.

The group was recognized for its 31-10 win over Jackson State in the Celebration Bowl, the program’s third national title under head coach Buddy Pough and fifth for a MEAC school in six meetings versus the SWAC champion since 2015.
