Jackson State adds four-star wide receiver Robert Lockhart

On the same day Jackson State played its spring game, the Tigers added yet another high-ranking recruit.

On Sunday, Class of 2023 four-star wide receiver Robert Lockhart announced he has committed to joining the Tigers.

Jackson State was one of three schools that were on his final list of considerations along with Maryland and Colorado.

Lockhart resides in Georgia where he plays for Langston Hughes High School. In his sophomore season, he made his name known posting 34 receptions, 681 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Not only is Lockhart a four-star football player, he is also spectacular in track and field, posting a 10.75 in the 100 meters, 21.5 in the 200 and a 4.45 40-yard dash.

Lockhart was not the only wide receiver to commit to Jackson State Sunday as Toledo three-star transfer Willie Gaines announced he is committed to the reigning SWAC champions.

Both players will enter a Jackson State offense that features the current Jerry Rice award winner quarterback Shedeur Sanders and five-star wide receiver recruit Travis Hunter.

Hunter is coming off an impressive performance in the Tigers’ spring game scoring two offensive touchdowns and recording two interceptions.

These offensive additions will surely increase Jackson State’s chances to repeat as conference champions.
