As we are entering the final week of the regular season in the Division II ranks, we see there is an undisputed king of the lower division HBCU football teams.
As a result of Virginia Union’s loss to Chowan this past Saturday, the Benedict Tigers are now one of two remaining undefeated teams in HBCU football.
As far as championship season goes, the Tigers and Tuskegee have already secured their place in the SIAC championship game, while Fayetteville State has its spot in the CIAA title game.
Virginia Union will go into week 10 looking to keep its CIAA championship hopes alive when the team faces the Virginia State Trojans.
