The Jackson State Tigers football team continues to make headlines by making an addition to their secondary from the ConferenceUSA.

UNC Charlotte safety Solomon Rogers announced his commitment to the Tigers for his final year of eligibility.

Rogers has played each of the last four seasons with the 49ers serving as the team’s primary starter for the last two years.

He recorded 102 total tackles (61 solo tackles), 3.5 tackles for loss, seven pass deflections, and an interception.

This is a welcome addition for Jackson State which has seen many of its key championship pieces enter the transfer portal during the offseason. These include running back Sy’Veon Wilkerson and wide receiver Willie Gaines, Travis Hunter, and Shedeur Sanders among others.
