Howard football secures commitment from 3-star quarterback

Howard University’s quarterback room gained an interesting addition Friday as former three-star recruit Kaden Cobb announced his commitment to the Bison, per his social media accounts.

Cobb, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore, was previously enrolled at Ball State of the Mid-American Conference but did not record any statistics for the Cardinals during the 2022 season.

Cobb was named a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com after an outstanding career at Fenwick High in Oak Park, Illinois.

In a four-year letter-winner career at Fenwick, Cobb recorded 6,372 yards and contributed 67 touchdowns, including a school-record 30 touchdown passes during the 2021 season.

Along with leading the Friars to a state championship that year, Cobb was named Suburban Life’s Illinois Player of the Year and was a first-team all-state selection.

The Bison, who earned a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship in 2022, currently have five quarterbacks listed on the roster. The most notable returnee is senior Quinton Williams, who was a second-team all-conference selection after throwing for 1884 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Redshirt sophomore Jaylon Torbert also saw action in 2022, including a 20-for-27, 218-yard, two-touchdown performance against Harvard on October 15.
