*John Boyega says he finally made contact with Jamie Foxx who is recovering after suffering a medical crisis.
The “Star Wars” actor previously revealed that he hadn’t been able to reach Foxx by phone since the “Ray” star fell ill in April. The pair star together in the new Netflix sci-fi comedy “They Cloned Tyrone” along with Teyonah Parris. The tale follows the three as they get caught up in a mysterious government conspiracy. Foxx serves as producer on the film but his health condition caused him to miss the recent premiere.
“I’ve been calling, I’m just gonna keep on calling,” Boyega stated over a week ago, The Independent reports.
He added, “He better pick up. Come on, Jamie!”
As People reports, Boyega told the outlet in a new interview that he recently chatted with Foxx on the phone.
“He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” Boyega told PEOPLE Tuesday. “He’s doing well. And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return.”
“I gave him the well wishes directly,” Boyega added. “I gave him all the well wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”
Datari Turner, who co-produced “They Cloned Tyrone” said Foxx is “doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good. [Director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really good shape and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. He’ll be back to work very soon.”
We reported previously that a rep for Foxx responded to the unsubstantiated claim that he suffered a medical injury that left him partially blind from the COVID-19 vaccine.
Dr. Peter McCullough seemed to suggest that the Hollywood star suffered a stroke following the COVID vaccine. The allegation was first made by a former New York Daily News reporter on the online talk show “Ask Dr. Drew.”
Podcaster A.J. Benza told Dr. Drew Pinsky on May 30 that Foxx is “partially paralyzed and blind” after he received a Covid vaccine. Benza claims insiders told him Foxx was forced to get a vaccine while working on a film.
As NBC News reports, Foxx’s rep said the allegation is “completely inaccurate.”
