Johnson C. Smith names new AD who is familiar with the university

Denisha Hendricks is returning to a familiar place to guide an athletic program she knows well.

Hendricks, who previously served as Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator at Johnson C. Smith, was named the university’s athletic director Monday. Her duties officially begin May 1st.

Hendricks is currently the director of Parks and Recreation in Selma, Alabama and has over 20 years of athletic administrative experience. Previous stops include AD roles at Chicago State, Kentucky State and senior women’s administrator and dean of students at Livingstone College.
