Are DEI Initiatives Allowing Unqualified Pilots to Fly Airplanes? – The Journal of Steffanie Rivers | WATCH

*Ninety percent of all commercial airline pilots in the United States are white men. So, recent comments from airline executives about the need for more diversity among pilots have led some to believe standards will be lowered in favor of DEI initiatives.

In case you think airline companies allow unqualified pilots to fly airplanes just to fill a DEI mandate you are wrong! There are several qualifications pilots-in-training must pass just to be considered for a position with a commercial airline.

Flight hours, simulator training and instrument certifications are just a few of the challenges that await anyone who wants to join the ranks as a commercial airline pilot. It takes years of preparation.
