FAMU adds former Mississippi Valley State leading tackler from transfer portal

Florida A&M bolstered their defensive unit this week, securing a commitment from former Mississippi Valley State linebacker Jayren Fox, who will arrive on the Highest of Seven Hills as a graduate transfer.

With that being said I am 1000% committed to FAMU”, said Fox in a post to his X account. “@CoachPatt_212 I’m so humbled and thankful for the opportunity. Proverbs 3:5-6.

Last season, the Cordele, Georgia native led the Delta Devils in tackles (78 total) and tackles for loss (10.0) and tied for a team-high 3.0 sacks.

During the 2023 season, Fox had a season-high 12 tackles in their October 28 matchup against Alcorn State and recorded one sack each against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Alcorn State, and Alabama A&M.

Fox, a 2022 Phil Steele All-SWAC Fourth Team member, has appeared in 35 games for the Delta Devils, recording 180 tackles (100 solo and 80 assisted), 19 tackles for loss, three passes defensed, and two forced fumbles.
