Florida A&M baseball player to join Savannah Bananas

Fresh from an appearance in the Ken Griffey Jr. Swingman HBCU Classic, Florida A&M centerfielder Ty Jackson will continue his show on the road — literally.

Jackson, first-team all-SWAC for the Rattlers each of the last two seasons, is joining the Savannah Bananas, the barnstorming baseball team known for their hilarious pranks and on-the-field shenanigans.

Jackson, a transfer from East Georgia State College, hit .378 in two seasons in Tallahassee, slugging 12 home runs and driving in 71 runs for the Rattlers. This past season, Jackson hit .387, also stole nine bases and completed the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. His performance helped Florida A&M win the SWAC Eastern Division title for the first time in program history.
