*A throwback looks to be on the way for “Basketball Wives.” Here’s the deal. Former fixture, Gloria Govan is allegedly returning to the franchise. However, insiders reveal she is just making an appearance with her not returning to series regular, theJasmineBrand reports.
As one of the first cast members of the spin-off series “Basketball Wives LA,” Govan came on the scene at the time engaged to NBA player Matt Barnes. The couple, who she married in 2013 and divorced in 2016, share 15-year-old twins Carter and Isaiah.
Govan spent two seasons on “Basketball Wives LA” before confirming she would not be part of the third season. She has not returned since.
Despite no longer being a part of the ‘Basketball Wives” universe, The Jasmine Brand noted Govan’s happenings offscreen with her tumultuous split from Barnes and bringing her relationship with NBA coach and former player Derek Fisher.
In 2021, the couple married. Since then, they have been raising their blended families together. The families consist of Govan’s two children with Barnes and Fisher’s three children from a previous relationship.
Govan’s alleged return to “Basketball Wives” comes amid buzz generated a month ago from her sister Laura retuning to the franchise. Like Gloria, Laura Govan appeared in the first and second seasons of “Basketball Wives: LA” before announcing her departure ahead of season 3.
In addition to the Govan sisters, Royce Reed is also said to be retuning. The former cheerleading professional, who shares a son with NBA star Dwight Howard, was part of the Miami-based first “Basketball Wives” franchise installment for four seasons before making her exit.
The second part of “Basketball Wives” season 11 is out now on VH1, with new episodes airing every Monday.
