Serena Williams Loses 4th Successive Major Final At U.S. Open

Serena William’s recording-equaling 24th grand slam continues to the elude her.

The tennis champ lost the U.S. Open final to 19-year-old Canadian player Bianca Andreescu in straight sets on Saturday.

Her loss came weeks after she also lost in the Wimbledon final to Simona Halep. She continues to fight for her first grand slam win since giving birth to her daughter Alexis in September 2017.

Williams has now lost four successive major finals.

“I think this was the worst match I’ve played all tournament,” Williams said. “It’s inexcusable to play at that level.”

She also admitted that the real Serena Williams didn’t show up to play.

“I have to kind of figure out how to get her to show up in Grand Slam finals,” Williams said.
