Kelly Rowland Talks Beyoncé’s ‘Homecoming’ Snub At Emmy Awards

The Beyhive weren’t the only ones scratching their heads when Beyoncé didn’t go home with not one Emmy Award earlier this month after her concert film, Homecoming, earned six Emmy Award nominations.

Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé, which premiered back in April, followed the singer over the course of eight months in preparation for her 2018 performance at Coachella. It included four months of rehearsal with 150 musicians and dancers all selected by Beyoncé herself.

Rowland told Extra TV recently that her longtime friend was robbed “because I know that she lost sleep” when creating the film, which quickly went viral.

The R&B singer, who reunited with Bey onstage during the special, said the Academy should’ve been impressed by “the culture of it, the pride of it, the passion behind it, the countless sleepless hours.”

Not only did the film premiere, but Beyoncé (the consummate overachiever) also released a surprise album titled Homecoming: The Live Album.

The album included Bey’s remake of the 1981 >whopping 40 of Beyoncé’s biggest hits, which is nearly two hours of bops.
