Kid Cudi Remixes The Weeknd’s ‘Privilege’

Kid Cudi takes on The Weeknd.

During the Halloween episode of The Weeknd’s Beats 1 show Memento Mori, guest host Kerwin Frost premiered Cudder’s remix to “Privilege” off The Weeknd’s 2018 EP My Dear Melancholy,.

Cudi adds his haunting melodies to the dark and moody track. “I lost a friend today,” he sings. “Feel you gone, gone you slipped away / Here you always stay with me / The moments shared, the memories as I dream.”

Last night, Cudi performed at ComplexCon in Long Beach, Calif., where he was joined on stage by Pusha-T and actor Timothée Chalamet.

He is now gearing up to release his new album Entergalactic, inspired by his upcoming adult animated music series for Netflix. He is teaming up with “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris on the show, which is set to debut in 2020.

“I’m trying my hardest to still introduce new sounds and push the envelope, sonically,” he told Complex. “So it’s still gonna be like everything that people love about Kid Cudi music. The only difference is that it’s gonna be told from a different perspective.”
