Eddie Murphy is set to make his big return to Saturday Night Live tonight—and Lizzo is just as excited as we are!
The Grammy-nominated star will be the musical guest on this episode, and she shared her glee at the prospect of joining Murphy in recently released promos.
In one of the promos with Murphy Lizzo and Kenan Thompson, the Dolemite Is My Name star announces he’ll be hosting the show, prompting Lizzo to excitedly say: “And when I heard I was like ahhhhhh, let’s go, let’s go!”
She then starts to twerk next to Murphy while chanting, “Sexual chocolate! Sexual chocolate!” The chant is a reference to the Murphy’s 1988 movie Coming to America.
“So excited!” Murphy tells the camera.
“Hercules!” Lizzo adds referencing another of Murphy’s movies — The Nutty Professor― causing the comedians a to laugh.
Murphy’s SNL appearance is part of his return to the spotlight after years away. His Netflix film Dolemite Is My Name, in which he portrays real-life comedian and musician Rudy Ray Moore, was out last month. His Coming to America sequel will be out in 2020 alongside a new comedy tour.
