Coronavirus fears force Lincoln (Pa.) to cancel spring sports for rest of year

Lincoln University (Pa.) announced the cancelation of all spring sports on Wednesday.

“In the wake of the coronavirus protocols put in place by the university, the Lincoln University Athletics Department has canceled the remainder of the spring sports season,” the school said in a statement. “Lincoln plans to resume athletics competition beginning in the fall of 2020.

The school also announced additional proactive measures it would take to prevent the spread of coronavirus by suspending face-to-face instruction for the remainder of the spring semester.

“Erring on the side of caution, face-to-face academic instruction is suspended immediately for the remainder of the spring semester,” the school announced. “Classes are canceled for the remainder of this week. Faculty will use this time to determine the best way to deliver remote modes of instruction. Beginning Monday, March 16, classes will transition to alternate modes of instruction.”
