The Weeknd and Calvin Harris Team Up on ‘Over Now’

The Weeknd keeps the new music coming.

After previewing the track during his virtual TikTok concert earlier this month, the Canadian crooner teams up with production powerhouse Calvin Harris on their new collaboration “Over Now.” On the breakup tune, a coldhearted Abel breaks hearts and feels little remorse.

“I don’t really care if your tears fall down your face / You know you play the victim every time,” he sings over Harris’ breezy groove. “I need you to know that / We ain’t ever gonna go back / This time it got so bad / It’s best for me, it’s best for you.”

“Over Now” follows The Weeknd’s recent collaborations with Juice WRLD (“Smile”) and Doja Cat (“In Your Eyes (Remix)”). In a new interview with Esquire, he shared his desire to “write a whole album for a female artist.”

But first, The Weeknd will perform at Sunday’s MTV VMAs, where he is nominated for six awards.
