Poll: Do you agree with Jackson State’s decision to remove John Hendrick as head football coach?

With the coronavirus pandemic creating unprecedented times in the sports world, which resulted in several NCAA member athletic conferences to delay fall sports until the spring, Jackson State made headlines on Monday when the school announced John Hendrick was removed as head football coach.

“In consultation with President Hudson and after a thorough review and evaluation of all aspects of our football program, I have decided that a change in leadership is in the best interest of our program and university,” Ashley Robinson, JSU athletic director, said in a statement. “I want to thank Coach Hendrick for the hard work he has done with our football program. I wish John much success in the future.”

Hendrick went 24-34 in two seasons at Jackson State, including 5-5 in the SWAC after taking over from Tony Hughes in 2018.

Current offensive coordinator and former JSU football player T.C. Taylor is reportedly a candidate to become the program’s next head coach.
