Shedeur Sanders makes commitment to dad, Jackson State in opportunity he ‘couldn’t pass up’

New Jackson State football coach Deion Sanders received possibly his most prominent commitment yet.

His son.

Shedeur Sanders, one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the 2021 recruiting class, made a verbal commitment to JSU Friday afternoon.

“I couldn’t pass up a opportunity to help level the playing field & pursue equality for HBCU”s ! Dad I got your back!,” he wrote on Twitter.

Sanders, who currently is the starting quarterback at Trinity Christian High School where his father is the team’s offensive coordinator, had previously committed to Florida Atlantic.

Sanders, who is the 35th-ranked quarterback in Texas, per 247 Sports, received an offer by Jackson State in September.
