The defending SWAC East champions got relatively better after receiving a commitment from an SEC running back.
Former four-star running back Cordarrian Richardson declared on Wednesday his intention to sign with Alcorn State.

The Texas A&M running back entered the transfer portal earlier this month after two seasons with the Aggies.

During his time in College Station in 2020, Richardson rushed for 232 yards on 23 carries to go along with four touchdowns.
The one-time Tennessee Mr. Football out of Memphis, Richardson started his collegiate career at Central Florida where he rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman in 2017 before transferring to Texas A&M.
Alcorn State should be bolstered by Richardson’s presence after the team rushed for 4.2 yards per carry in 2019.
