*Media personality Angela Yee responded to comedian Jess Hilarious officially taking her place on “The Breakfast Club.”
Earlier this week, we reported that Jess officially joined “The Breakfast Club” as the newest co-host of the popular NYC-based radio show, iHeart Radio, announced on Jan. 29. She joins current longtime hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy on the daily morning program. The announcement comes weeks after Jess confirmed joining the show in December.
Yee, who departed the radio show in 2022, showed Jess some love on the latest episode of her podcast Way Up with Angela Yee, Complex reports.
“Shout out to Jess Hilarious, they just announced that she is the new third host of The Breakfast Club,” Yee said. “We love Jess Hilarious, so congratulations.”
Later in the broadcast, Yee praised Jess for hosting “her own podcast” as a successful comedian. “We know her from Wild ‘N Out, we know her from her ‘Jess With the Mess,’” she added.
“But congratulations to her. I know it’s not an easy job,” Yee said.
Billboard reports that Jess Hilarious will officially begin as the show’s third co-host on Feb. 5.
“I’m very excited to have Jess Hilarious join The Breakfast Club. She is a force in her own right, an actress, comedian, podcaster and now, the co-host of The Breakfast Club,” said Thea Mitchem, iHeartMedia executive vice president of programming in a press release, per Billboard.
“Jess was the standout choice to join Charlamagne and DJ Envy to build upon The Breakfast Club’s legacy of entertaining, informing, and enlightening the community,” the statement continued.
Jess Hilarious added, “I’m looking forward to joining forces with one of the largest media platforms. I’m confident that taking the third seat at The Breakfast Club will show people that Jess Hilarious is not just comedy, but culture.”
