Are Undocumented Workers the Foundation of America? – The Journal of Steffanie Rivers | WATCH

*With the presidential election just days away Donald Trump has been asked about his solutions to the problems many Americans face trying to make ends meet. It is abundantly clear he has no plan, except to win the election so he can stay out of prison.

He has mastered the art of ‘weaving’ his way around answering direct questions. Yet, if he or his team bothered to do some research, they would discover Trump’s go-to plan to deport millions of undocumented workers would be akin to kicking the foundation out from under the economy that he claims to know so well.

A recent report shows that deporting 7 million immigrants, mostly low-wage earners, would reduce national employment similar to what we saw during the Great Recession. It would shrink the US economy by 6 percent or 1.6 trillion dollars. Undocumented workers are embedded in the fabric of America.

When are politicians, including Trump, going to stop blaming immigrants for what is wrong with America, and acknowledge their sweat equity and trillions of dollars paid into our social security and tax system from which they will never benefit? Again, deporting 7 million immigrants will cause harm to the economy. Click the video above for my take on it.
