Bethune-Cookman loses All-SWAC receiver to transfer portal

Bethune-Cookman wide receiver Marcus Riley has entered the transfer portal.

The 5-foot -11, 180-pound Tallahassee product made the announcement Tuesday via his Instagram account.

“First, I would like to thank Bethune-Cookman for allowing me to further my education and get my Degree,” he wrote. “I want to thank Coach (Terry) Sims and his coaching staff for giving me another opportunity to chase my dreams. This was a very tough decision, but after a lot of consideration and prayers, I’ve decided to put my name into the transfer portal with a year of eligibility .”

 

The All-SWAC Second Team performer was the Wildcats’ leading receiver in 2022, catching 39 passes for 563 yards and five touchdowns. His best statistical performance of the season was when he recorded nine receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a 58-48 loss versus Prairie View on Oct. 29.
