*After Beyoncé’s show at Maryland’s FedEx Field on Sunday, August 6, adverse weather conditions threatened to leave fans stranded. Queen Bey herself paid $100,000 to extend the DC Metro system’s hours so they could get home.

“Due to inclement weather that may delay the start of tonight’s Renaissance World Tour at FedExField, Metro will extend the last train by an extra hour beyond the extended closing previously announced,” the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) said in a statement, Complex reports.

“The additional hour will be funded by the Tour to cover the $100,000 cost to run more trains, keep all 98 stations open for customers to exit, and other operational expenses,” the statement continued.

Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour is currently making its way through North America. The superstar recently paid tribute to O’Shae Sibley, a gay man who was killed last month after dancing to a Beyoncé song in Brooklyn.

EUR reported previously that Sibley, 28, was with friends when he was killed at a Brooklyn gas station in a vicious homophobic attack, according to People.

Sibley, a professional dancer, was voguing when several men approached the group and shouted gay slurs. He was stabbed after the confrontation became hostile.

One of the victim’s friends, Otis Pena, was filming the group’s night out for a Facebook Live post when the attack occurred.

“They murdered him because he’s gay, because he stood up for his friends,” Pena said in a Facebook video.

Beyoncé paid tribute to Sibley on her official website, writing: “REST IN POWER O’SHAE SIBLEY.”

On Monday, Dmitriy Popov, 17, of Brooklyn, was arraigned on multiple charges, including murder and a hate crime in relation to Sibley’s death. The Kings County district attorney is charging Popov as an adult. According to New York State law, anyone over 13 who is charged with murder is prosecuted in adult court.
