Bill Cosby Denied Parole After He Refuses Sex Offender Therapy

A parole board denied Bill Cosby’s attempt to get out of prison.

The Pennsylvania Parole Board denied his parole in May, indicating that there were many factors that went into their decision to rule against Cosby’s release — one being that he didn’t participate in a sex offenders program.

Cosby also had not developed a plan for his release. Additionally, the Department of Corrections did not recommend his release.

The news, however, doesn’t come as a surprise to Cosby. Andrew Wyatt, a spokesman for Cosby, said the comedian expected the parole denial. “We knew he was going to be rejected. He called me and told me that if he didn’t take the course, he would be denied,” Wyatt said.

Several women have alleged sexual assault claims against Cosby. In September 2018, he was convicted of a 2004 aggravated indecent assault of Andrea Constand, his former friend at Temple University.

The 83-year-old former TV dad was sentenced to three to ten years. He would’ve been eligible for parole on September 25 after serving the three=year minimum term of his sentence.

Although Cosby remains behind bars, he told Wyatt he isn’t giving up hope for parole and a possible new trial.
