*Malcolm X’s family is to sue the NYPD and the U.S. Government agencies for allegedly concealing evidence of his assassination which occurred on February 21, 1965. This year marks the 58th anniversary of the assassination of Malcolm X. His daughter, Ilyasah Shabazz, gave a press conference to announce that she is suing the New York Police Department and other central agencies for the murder of her father. Needs to be seen, how this develops, and in continuation to mark Black History Month, OUR ROOTS throws the spotlight on the icon himself, Malcolm X. He would have been 98 years in May.

Nigeria Decides — Nigerians go to the polls tomorrow Saturday, 25th February – They will be voting for a new President and Vice president and for Senators as well. Turn out of young people voting on Saturday is expected to be high. When Nigeria sneezes, the rest of Africa catches a cold. A lot is placed on a free and fair election and smooth transition for a politically stable nation in West Africa and as the most populous African giant. How the outgoing President Buhari handles this transition will at least shape his legacy over the 8 years he has been in power. The world will be watching and holding its breath.
