Blair Underwood Set For 'L.A. Law' Sequel Series In Development At ABC

Blair Underwood is headed back to the TV screen as L.A. Law character Jonathan Rollins.

According to TVLine, the sequel series/reboot of L.A. Law, which originally aired from 1986 to 1994, is headed for ABC. Underwood will return as Rollins, who has now become more reserved in his positions on the law.

“Underwood’s character has reportedly become more conservative over the years, so viewers can expect plenty of friction between Jonathan and a millennial named JJ Freeman,” wrote TVLine. Currently, Underwood is the only actor from the original series set to return, and he will executive produce. But, even though Underwood is the only original actor who is attached at the moment, there’s the possibility for former L.A. Law stars to return if the show gets a series order from ABC.

Executive producing along with Underwood is director Anthony Hemingway, writers Ubah Mohamed and Marc Guggenheim and Dayna Bocho and Jesse Bocho, the widow and son of L.A. Law creator Steven Bocho. The Bochos will executive produce through Steven Bocho Productions.
