Emmy-winning actor Sterling K. Brown is known to many households for his role as Randall Pearson in the NBC primetime drama This Is Us, his portrayal of prosecutor Christopher Darden in FX’s The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, as well as his roles in films and shows like Black Panther, Waves and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Next up for Brown, Variety reports that he is attached to start in Coyote Blue, an action film slated to be written by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad and directed by Hanelle M. Culpepper for Amazon Studios.
The film will mark Culpepper’s feature directorial debut.
The film will Brown an “everyman who’s hunted by a ruthless criminal syndicate for his mysterious cargo, and now must navigate the treacherous terrain of Route 66 while unleashing his lethal set of skills in a fight for survival.”
Not only is Brown starring in Coyote Blue, but he is slated to produce the film with Danielle Reardon under Indian Meadows Productions.
Aside from Coyote Blue, Culpepper will direct and executive produce on the upcoming television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys, which Delory Lindo is attached to star as Anansi/Mr. Nancy.
