Jamie Foxx’s Netflix comedy, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, will not return for a second season on the streaming giant.
Deadline first reported this news, noting that Foxx was involved in the decision to end the series. Still, Foxx and Netflix are frequent collaborators, and he is set to appear in the upcoming films They Cloned Tyrone and Day Shift.
The series was inspired by Foxx’s relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who produced alongside Alex Avant. Ken Whittingham directed all of the first season’s episodes. Bentley Kyle Evans, a former showrunner on Martin who co-created The Jamie Foxx Show with Foxx, was the showrunner and executive producer for this series.
The series also starred Kyla-Drew, David Alan Grier, Porscha Coleman, Jonathan Kite, Heather Hemmens and Valente Rodriguez.
Here’s the official description; Brian Dixon (Jamie Foxx), successful business owner and bachelor, just unexpectedly became a full-time father to his teenage daughter Sasha (Kyla-Drew). Determined to turn over a new leaf, Brian’s going to need all the help he can get from his dad (David Alan Grier) and sister (Porscha Coleman) — and Sasha’s going to need all the help she can get learning how to fit into her new, lovingly imperfect home.
