*Sean Combs’ former bodyguard denies knowing Thalia Graves, a woman who recently filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him and the disgraced music mogul.
Graves alleged that in 2001, Combs and Joseph “Big Joe” Sherman drugged and assaulted her at Bad Boy Records in New York City. Sherman refuted the claim, stating that he wasn’t employed by Combs or his record label at the time of the alleged incident.
“I’m not questioning her integrity,” Sherman told News 4 New York, SandraRose.com reports. “I’m questioning her claims against me. I wasn’t head of security. You’ve got the wrong man,” he added before showing reporter Sarah Wallace receipts in the form of DM messages that Graves sent to him on Instagram.
“Her and whoever that she’s in cahoots with was orchestrating a money grab. She wanted me to be a part of her money grab — it says it right in her texts. She wanted to get Diddy,” Sherman said of the messages.
In one text, Graves asked Sherman if he worked security for Combs. “She confused me because she kept saying, “Are you Big Joe?” he noted. In another message, the woman accused him of showing people explicit videos of her.
“Did you work for Bad Boy?” Graves asked Sherman in the message. “Did you show a video to people in the studio of Conrads? That’s why I asked you to call so I can make sure it’s the right person.”
She went on to explain that her attorneys “will leave you out of any proceedings” if Sherman agrees to be her witness against Diddy.
“She knows that what she did to me destroyed my family, destroyed my livelihood. I can’t get a job,” Sherman said.
“I’m nothing but a scapegoat for this BS. Because I wouldn’t get Puffy and lie on Sean Combs,” he added.
Graves’ attorney, Gloria Allred, responded to Sherman’s denials in an email to the news outlet, stating: “The complaint speaks for itself. Our client looks forward to her day in court.”
