Donald Trump Jr. has tested positive for the coronavirus, Bloomberg News reports.
“Don tested positive at the start of the week and has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result,” Trump Jr.’s spokesman said. “He’s been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended COVID-19 guidelines.”
Trump Jr. is the latest in his family to test positive for the novel coronavirus, joining his father President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and brother Barron Trump.
Additionally, Andrew Giuliani, one of President Trump’s advisors and son of his attorney Rudy Giuliani, also announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, “This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19,” the younger Giuliani wrote on Twitter. “I am experiencing mild symptoms, and am following all appropriate protocols, including being in quarantine and conducting contact tracing.”
Trump Jr. and Giuliani join many in the Trump inner circle to have become infected with COVID-19, including Dr. Ben Carson; Mark Meadows, the president’s chief of staff; Kellyanne Conway, former White House senior advisor; Hope Hicks, a top Trump aide; White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany; Nicholas Luna, assistant to the president; and former White House senior advisor, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), among others.
The United States currently has a reported 11.9M COVID-19 cases, approximately one-fifth of the world’s total reported cases to date, and a reported 253K deaths, almost one-fourth of the world’s total reported COVID-19 deaths to date.
