*As preparations for the upcoming Democratic National Convention/DNC ramp up, some of the biggest names in Hollywood are jockeying for prime positions. However, sources close to the Harris-Walz campaign reveal that not everyone will NOT make the cut.

The campaign team is emphasizing strategic and selective celebrity involvement to avoid turning the Chicago-based DNC event into a “Hollywood liberal elite” affair.

The Harris-Walz campaign is taking lessons from Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, where heavy celebrity involvement may have backfired, painting the event as out of touch with everyday Americans.

According to sources familiar with the campaign’s internal planning, Kamala Harris and her team are keen on not repeating this mistake.

They aim to balance the excitement and human connection that celebrities can bring without overshadowing the core political messages.

Adrienne Elrod, a senior spokesperson for the Harris For President campaign, shared insights with TMZ:

“We are living in the most personalized media environment ever, so it’s crucial we are leveraging the unparalleled excitement around this historic ticket by doing everything we can to break through to the voters who will decide this election.”

Elrod emphasized the value of celebrities reaching out to their built-in audiences authentically.

One confirmed participant is John Legend, whose exact role—whether performing or speaking—remains unclear.

Other celebrities reportedly pushing for a spot include Kerry Washington, Chrissy Teigen, and members of the Creative Coalition, a nonpartisan arts advocacy organization. The Coalition’s delegation this year is star-studded, including Uzo Aduba, Anthony Anderson, Yvette Nicole Brown, David Cross, Jon Cryer, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Busy Philipps, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Uma Thurman.

Despite their popularity, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are unlikely to attend. Swift is touring overseas, and sources strongly doubt an in-person appearance from Beyoncé at the DNC or any campaign rally.

As the Harris-Walz campaign navigates these dynamics, it remains to be seen which celebrities will grace the DNC stage. Nevertheless, the approach appears to be strategically sound in attempting to resonate with everyday voters, while still capitalizing on the unique influence that well-chosen celebrities can bring.

As the final plans are still being solidified, the blend of political strategy and star power will certainly add an intriguing dimension to this year’s Democratic National Convention.
