Travis Hunter darted across the formation and took a toss from quarterback Shedeur Sanders and sprinted toward the right end.
After getting a couple of lead blocks, Hunter waltzed down the slide line untouched for a 20-yard touchdown, his first as a college player.
Then in the second quarter, Hunter intercepted Alabama A&M QB Quincy Casey for his first interception of the season.
Head coach Deion Sanders later quipped that the Bulldogs were fortunate the true freshman didn’t “house that thing” in reference to Hunter possibly scoring on the turnover.

“I really can’t believe they tried him,” Sanders said.
The nation’s No.1 recruit has been back in the lineup — playing both offense and defense — since returning from injury and has made an impact.
For the season, Hunter has recorded 7 tackles, 4 pass breakups, and the lone interception. On offense, Hunter has hauled in 11 passes for 93 yards in addition to the single TD.
“Travis is everything that they say he is,” Sanders said. “The way he practices, the way he prepares, and the way he goes about his business as a pro.”

The two-way player hasn’t put up gaudy numbers in his first college season, but his presence on the field, says Sanders, has provided a different dynamic to an already dynamic group.
“I love what he brings to the table,” the coach said. … “on offense, defense, and special teams. And he’s learning each week. You have to understand where 12 is on the field.”
