DaBaby is today’s Tupac, according to Fat Joe.
During his visit to “Rap City ’21,” Big Tigger put Joe in the hot seat and asked him to name the “2021 version” of some rap legends. When he brought up Tupac Shakur, Joe hesitated, realizing that it was not easy to compare the greats.

“It’s hard to be these guys…You asking me some crazy stuff,” he said before responding, “I would say DaBaby.”
His response stirred a debate on social media, with most condemning Joe for the comparison. “Fat Joe needs to sit down. DaBaby hasn’t dropped anything close to Pac’s greatest hits,” wrote one, while another added, “Righttt pac was a activist too, he had da world woke wit what he was talking abt, what has dababy done to be compared to him?”

Fat Joe needs to sit down. DaBaby hasn’t dropped anything close to Pac’s greatest hits. Just cause he walking around barking and sizing people up doesn’t mean he’s the next Pac. Pac had real impact. Talked about real changes. Where’s DaBaby’s Brenda’s got a baby or Changes?

DaBaby reposted the clip on Instagram and gave his co-sign. “Agreed.but they gone salt that down too Crack,” he wrote, adding, “This gone make n*ggas slam they iPhone on the floor @fatjoe.”
During his “Rap City” appearance, Joe also shared his other takes, saying the current version of JAY-Z is Kendrick Lamar, while Rod Wave is today’s E-40. “‘Cause they both big boys, and that boy got somethin’,” he said.
