Fat Joe Says He and The Notorious B.I.G. Were Recording an Album Dissing Tupac

Fat Joe is making a B.I.G. revelation.

While speaking with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland on Instagram Live on the death anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G. on Tuesday (March 9), Joe reflected on the rap icon’s legacy. For the first time, he also revealed that he was working on a joint album with the Brooklyn rap icon. They had recorded five songs together for the unreleased project.

“You know I say stuff and they always say I lie or I say too much,” Joe said, according to HipHop-N-More. “You know I worked on an album with Biggie? We cut about five songs together. He was like, ‘You the Latino Don, I’m the Black Don.’ And we was in that studio going crazy. It’s verified by Puff Daddy and everybody.”

He also revealed that they were taking shots at Biggie’s rival Tupac Shakur amid the mid-’90s East Coast-West Coast feud. “I’ma keep it real…at the time, we were dissing Tupac a lot and all that, so that should have never seen the light of day,” Joe admitted. “Which is respectfully so because you know they both passed on. But yeah, I worked with the B.I.G. for real.”

While their collaborative project remains in the vault, Joe posthumously collaborated with Biggie and Big Pun on “Get Your Grind On” for Biggie’s 2005 album Duets: The Final Chapter.

During his Fat Joe show on Instagram Live, Joe also unearthed an unreleased collaboration with Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown that was supposed to appear on their ill-fated Thelma and Louise album.
