The coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the country almost unabated and has now affected a former HBCU football star.
Terron Armstead, the former Arkansas-Pine Bluff standout offensive lineman and current New Orleans Saints starter, reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

“Found out this morning that I tested positive for Covid! I feel completely normal and ready to go play with my guys tomorrow,” Armstead wrote on Twitter Saturday. “Unfortunately, that can’t happen and while that s— sucks, I can’t downplay the impact covid has had on so many lives. Everyone stay safe.”

The positive test means the Pro Bowler will miss Sunday’s game versus the Denver Broncos.

The result comes days after widespread positive cases across the NFL, including several that led to the postponement of a scheduled game between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.
In response to the surge in infections, the league will halt all in-person activities for Monday, Nov. 30, and Tuesday, Dec. 1.
