Former Jackson State linebacker Aubrey Miller Jr. continues football career in the CFL

Former SWAC Defensive Player of the Year Aubrey Miller Jr. is taking his talents north of the border to the Canadian Football League, signing with the Edmonton Elks.

Miller played two seasons with Jackson State in 2021 and 2022, transferring to the team from the University of Missouri.

He recorded 226 total tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, nine pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 26 total games. He helped lead the team to SWAC championships each year.

The Mizzou transfer was named to the All-SWAC team each year and won the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.

Upon entering the 2023 NFL Draft, Miller was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins, eventually being cut before the start of the regular season.

Miller joins an Edmonton Elks team that finished with a 4-14 record in the 2023 season, marking their fourth losing year in as many seasons.
