John Wesley, most known for his roles on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin, has died from Cancer. According to USA TODAY, “The actor’s manager and producer, Gerry Pass, confirmed Wesley died at Cedars-Sinai Hospital Sunday following complications from a long battle with multiple myeloma, a type of cancer that forms in plasma cells. “ Although his acting credits stretch from Denzel Washington and Barbara Streisand, depending on who you’re talking to, you might remember him more for his role as Dr. Hoover, the father of a student who was bullying Ashley Banks (Tatyana Ali) on a 1991 episode of Fresh Prince.

USA Today reports, “Prior to his acting career, the Louisiana native served in the Army during the Vietnam War before he was honorably discharged. He also earned degrees from the University of California, San Diego and the University of San Diego. He is survived by his wife Jenny Houston, daughters Kimiko and Kinshasha, stepson Kyler and seven grandchildren.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Wesley family.
