Geremy Hickbottom to play for Eddie George at Tennessee State

Geremy Hickbottom is on the move again.

Just two months after the senior quarterback announced that he had committed to Bethune Cookman, the former Grambling quarterback flipped his commitment to Tennessee State.

“First giving honor to god, my family and friends and who all help me along the way with my recruiting process. With that being said i will be switching commitments and joining Tennessee State for my last year of ball,” he wrote on social media.

This past spring with Grambling, Hickbottom completed 66 percent of his passes for 380 yards to go along with one touchdown and one interception in three games. He announced on March 24 that he was entering the transfer portal hours after the program shut down football operations because of COVID-19 issues within the program.

For his career, Hickbottom has thrown for 4,233 yards to go along with 48 total TDs and 1,234 rushing yards.

If Hickbottom remains at Tennessee State and wins the starting job, his first outing will be against a familiar foe.

The Tigers are scheduled to host Grambling on Sept. 5 in what would be Eddie George’s first game as head coach.
