Changes within the Grambling State coaching staff continue.
Sources close to the football program indicated to HBCU Sports that Grambling is expected to name Reedley (California) Junior College head coach Eric Marty its next offensive coordinator.
Marty replaces Kendrick Nord who previously served as the team’s passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Nord only served in the offensive coordinator role for one game in the Tigers’ 48-21 loss Saturday to Arkansas-Pine Bluff during the spring season.
Head coach Broderick Fobbs tabbed Nord as the team’s interim in March when Mark Orlando, the team’s former offensive coordinator, resigned following Grambling’s 17-10 loss to Prairie View A&M in the State Fair Classic on March 13.

The Grambling offense will need a boost coming off a 2021 spring season where it averaged 21 points per game and was No. 9 overall in the SWAC in passing and averaged 3.2 yards per rush.
Marty helped guide Reedley to 45.7 points per game while serving as both head coach and offensive coordinator in 2019 for Reedly. In 2018, Marty was named Golden Coast Conference Coach of the Year and led Reedly to two conference championships in four seasons.
