HBCU baseball players named to USA college national team

Several Black College Baseball players have been named to the United States Collegiate National team participating in the International Friendship Series and summer tour.

On the U.S. roster is Grambling State infielder Kyle Walker, who, along with teammate Cameron Bufford, participated in the MLB College Combine earlier this month in Arizona.

The tour roster includes Alabama State’s Jamal George (catcher/infielder, Luis Rodriguez (a pitcher), Southern infielder K.J. White, and Bethune-Cookman pitcher Pablo Torres.

The USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series kicked off Saturday and will go until July 2 in various ballparks across North Carolina.

The Collegiate Tour started Saturday in North Carolina as well. The team took on the Coastal Plain League Select Team before heading to Virginia and Tennessee to play two games against the Appalachian League East Select team on July 1 and July 2.
