Here is where every D1 HBCU basketball team stands in the latest NET rankings

The HBCU men’s basketball season is in full swing despite the litany of cancelations and postponements because of COVID-19. But there are a lot of intriguing team performances this year.

On Sunday, the NCAA updated its NET rankings. As you can see below, both the MEAC and SWAC are featured prominently at the bottom half of the rankings. However, that can be mostly attributed to an influx in schedules through the first three months of the regular season.

The NET, which stands for the NCAA Evaluation Tool, replaced the RPI after the 2017-18 season and it is used as the primary sorting tool for selection and seeding for the NCAA tournament.

Here is where schools stand as of Sunday:

No. 120 — Morgan State
No. 156 — Alabama A&M
No. 160 — North Carolina Central
No. 169 — Norfolk State
No. 218 — Southern
No. 240 — Prairie View
No. 243 — Florida A&M
No. 255 — Texas Southern
No. 272 — Grambling State
No. 294 — Hampton
No. 308 — Tennessee State
No. 313 — North Carolina A&T
No. 317 — Jackson State
No. 320 — Coppin State
No. 326 — Howard
No. 333 — Alcorn State
No. 336 — Arkansas-Pine Bluff
No. 338 — Alabama State
No. 343 — Delaware State
No. 347 — Mississippi Valley State

How the rest of the season plays out is still to be determined as conference play intensifies and each game takes on a significant level of importance.
