*Iconoclast has acquired the publishing rights to the music catalog of Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Eve in a deal reportedly valued between $25 million and $50 million.
Known for her influential role in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Eve became the third female rapper to top the Billboard 200 with her debut album “Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady.” She gained widespread recognition with hits like “Gangsta Lovin’,” “Love Is Blind,” and her Grammy-winning collaboration with Gwen Stefani, “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.”
In a press release, the company announced that it has acquired the “publishing rights to the catalog of double platinum-selling and Grammy Award-winning hip hop artist Eve.”

We reported earlier that Eve is gearing up to release her memoir, “Who’s That Girl?” where she reflects on a conversation she had with Jay-Z early in her career when he warned her that female rappers struggle to gain success in the hip-hop industry.
“I’ve written a f***ing book. It’s crazy,” she said in an interview with The Times. “I was nervous initially about putting all this stuff out there, but I wanted to be open and vulnerable.”
In her memoir, Eve reflects on a phone call from Jay-Z on the day her debut album was released. While he congratulated her, he also noted that female rappers “don’t really do that well.”
Another executive suggested Eve should quit the music business and focus on starting a family.
“I always got a lot of pushback,” she said “The audacity that these men had. Now I have age and experience on my side, nobody’s coming at me like that.”
Despite receiving negative feedback, Eve’s debut album, released in 1999, went on to sell 2 million copies.
