*Irv Gotti has announced that a new project focusing on the life of the late rapper DMX is in development.

The co-founder of Murder Inc. Records confirmed the project while also providing a health update following a stroke.

“Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago,” his rep said in a statement, Vibe reports.

“He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life,” the rep added.

Gotti said, “I’m getting older. That’s all. Only thing worse than getting old is not getting old.”

DMX passed away in 2021, following a cocaine-induced heart attack. Not much is known about Irv’s biopic on his late friend, but it will follow the documentary that TMZ released last year on Tubi titled “TMZ NO BS: DMX.”

“DMX is one of rap’s most iconic figures, ascending to superstardom after rising from the streets of Yonkers to the top of the music world,” the synopsis states. “Despite his incredible success, a slew of legal and personal problems plagued the life of Earl Simmons. TMZ NO BS: DMX presents the story of one of the most legendary Hip-Hop artists of all time — and the demons that haunted him until his untimely death.”
