Issa Rae is going through deep emotions as Insecure nears its end.
According to People, Rae is posting her sadness about her show’s final episodes to her Instagram story. Some of her posts include reposting some of the pictures from her executive producer and writer Prentice Penny. “My guy is really leaving me today,” she wrote. “I am already a wreck.”
“It is Prentice and Yvonne [Orji]’s last day adn I am f–ed up,” she said in another post. “This s– is real. I’m a G, though. I’m gonna tough it out.”
On another post, she wrote, “12-13 more hours to go.”
Rae also wrote on Twitter, “Today is my last day shooting #InsecureHBO. Said goodbye to some of my favorite people on Earth, on and off screen, this past week. Never imagined all the doors this would open. Forever grateful to those who paved the way for us to do us.”

Penny also posted his feelings on Twitter, writing that working on Insecure has “[b]een a life changing six years.”
“I feel blessed to inspire black culture in the same way black tv inspired me when I was a kid,” he wrote. “So to even be remotely in that ballpark I’m thankful. See you guys for the #FabAndFinal [episode].”

Orji also made several sentimental posts on social media.
Rae told NBC’s Today in April that she was ready to leave the world of Insecure behind, saying, “I’m definitely ready to let it go.”
“I knew that I wanted to end it after five seasons,” she said. “And I feel like I’m really proud of this season that we’re shooting now. It’s so much fun, and it’s made me appreciate the show in a different way.”
Rae also spoke with Shadow And Act about the 10 year anniversary of Rae’s web series The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, discussing how her web series came from her frustration at not seeing people like her on television.
“I just wanted to create a character that I could relate to because I was really frustrated with not seeing representation of my friends and my family members on-screen,” she said. “I was complaining a lot, and someone on my blog was just like, ‘You complain a lot, why don’t you make something?’ That was the impetus for me to stop making excuses about this character and just create it.”
